Arizona Film JobsArizona's video, film, and TV industry is taking off! Some say that the entertainment industry fares well in times of economic depression and that may prove to be the case for Phoenix. If you don't have an agent (yeah, we'd all like one, I know), you need to start looking once, twice a day at the local ads on the sites listed below. If you don't already have MySpace and Facebook pages, set them up and display your best photos, your acting creds and, if possible, your reel (clips of stuff you've worked in). Link to IMDB whenever applicable and any other film companies you've ever associated with. Work on growing your network! Watch out for the scammers, the guys asking for money to put you on the road to the glamorous life. Places like TalentHunter.com are akin to pond scum. They bombard Craigslist with their fake casting call ads for movies with big stars. Once you follow the link to their site, they entice you with "free" casting info that turns out to be worthless if you don't pay them money to unlock the rest of information. Check out the people who you're potentially working for/with. It's easy to ask on your local forums or Google them.

Phoenix Craigslist's
TV/Film/Video/Radio Job section is fairly hopping these days. There are a few decent
paid opportunities, although there are a lot of insulting offers as well (don't be shy about telling these morons what you think). You should check at least twice daily if you want to stay ahead of the pile. And do the community a favor and flag any phony casting links
as prohibited and/or spam.
And don't forget to check the LA and Las Vegas listings as well, since they're only a few hours' drive from Phoenix. |

| Phoenix Craigslist's Gigs section also lists film-related work, although there's more and more crap too. If all you need is a few bucks for one or two days' work, then this can be the place to go. (If you're handy with tools, check out OntheJobBob.com.) Make sure to check frequently throughout the day so that you're one of the first to answer these ads, since these jobs tend to go fast. | |||||||
| PhoenixBackPage.com lists film-related work, but also a lot of crap. | |||||||
Mandy.com is a good place to check for Arizona film production jobs and acting jobs. Mandy.com also offers other interesting film resources. |
|||||||
Arizona Film Office HOTweb has information on local productions. Don't miss this official site for information on license |
|||||||
Media Communications Association International has job listings, mostly in broadcasting. |
|||||||
The Production Hub is a national database of film production jobs. Not much of late but you never know.... Also lists some Arizona casting calls. |
